Leinster win first youth series
Leinster opened the scoring after eight minutes with a penalty from Chris Jebb and the hosts heaped more pressure on the visitors with another Jebb effort on 22 minutes.
A combination of strong pressure from the home side in the first half and gallant Connacht defence resulted in a tight half with neither side giving an inch in Terenure.
The impressive David Maloney was on hand to cap off a fine move started off from inside the Leinster 22 with a try involving Shane Monahan and a superb Damien Wildes break.
Clondalkin’s Jebb missed the conversion from the side line and Leinster took an 11-point advantage at the break. Connacht’s second half efforts were rewarded with a penalty from captain Aidan Wynne on the hour.
