Betsen had ‘no intent to injure’

BIARRITZ and France back-row player Serge Betsen has denied any intent in the trip which has left Wasps and England centre Stuart Abbott sidelined for the rest of the season with a broken leg.
Betsen had ‘no intent to injure’

Abbott wrong-footed Betsen during Biarritz’s 18-15 win over Wasps in the Heineken Cup last Saturday but was felled by Betsen’s flailing leg and was subsequently cited by Wasps.

Should ERC find Betsen guilty of an offence he would face a suspension, almost certainly ruling him out of the opening fortnight of the Six Nations, including the clash with England at Twickenham on February 14.
