Hewick was the star attraction on Thursday’s card in Thurles, and the former King George Chase, Galway Plate and American Grand National winner delighted his supporters with a sprightly display in the www.thurlesraces.ie Hurdle.

Paddy Hanlon, son of the winning trainer, Shark Hanlon, set out to make all the running, and had the most willing partner underneath him. The 10-year-old gelding attacked his hurdles with relish, to the point that each time his two rivals threatened to get involved, he took another length out of them.
