Ol Man Dingle should make winning start over fences at Galway

Useful hurdler Ol Man Dingle has long looked the type to excel when sent over fences and he can make a winning debut over the larger obstacles in the Race In Pink Raceday On Sunday October 26 Beginners’ Chase, the fifth race on a seven-race programme in Galway.
Eoin Griffin’s six-year-old had one outing in a point to point and was collared close home by the promising Twoohthree, but since turning his attention to the track he has won three times over timber and earned a rating as high as 139.
All the while, he gave the impression he was a chaser in the making and all things being equal he should be able to surpass that level over the coming months. He has the size, scope and ability to climb the grades in this sphere and this is a good opportunity to make an early impact.
Willie Mullins runs two, and while More Coko looked exposed over hurdles, he ran a promising enough race on his first start over fences and can build on it enough to take the runner-up spot. Mullins’ other runner, Road To Home, is worth noting in the betting, but Will The Wise was disappointing last time and needs to bounce back to form.
The first race is a pretty ordinary maiden hurdle and Welonlyhavedone won’t have to be a star to get off the mark at the first time of asking over timber.
Winner of a point to point in Liscarroll, he made his track debut at the summer festival here and while he was quite well beaten, he was far from disgraced in the bumper won by Frankie John.
In light of the subsequent successes of fourth-placed Parnell Street and fifth-placed Apache Trible, and even the subsequent efforts of some of the other runners, the form has a solid look to it.
In the context of this race, the selection won’t have to improve too much to come home in front, and he can land the spoils at the expense of Getaways Charm, who boasts some reasonable placed form over hurdles.
