Sujet can sail to Port Of Cork Handicap win

Sujet can continue on his winning ways by taking Port Of Cork Handicap, which is the sixth race on an afternoon card in Cork where the listed Navigation Stakes is the feature.
Dermot Weld’s gelding showed ability in all three starts at two but made the breakthrough on his return to action this season, winning a Curragh handicap in fine style.
On the back of that, he was sent off a short-priced favourite for a decent handicap at the Galway festival and again ran well, thought the softer conditions may have caught him out.
On his most recent effort, in Killarney, he got on top late to beat Sunriseontheboyne, and that form received a fine boost when the runner-up ran away with a handicap at the Harvest Festival in Listowel.
That suggests the selection should have little trouble coping with the extra 2lbs on his rating, and he can continue his good season chiefly at the expense of Sun Soldier and Mathan.
Connections of Sujet - Weld, jockey Colin Keane and owners Juddmonte - can also take the feature, the listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Navigation Stakes, with Purview.
This is the very least that would have been expected from this son of Kingman after the Dundalk maiden winner chased home Delacroix in the Group 3 Derby Trial on his first start of the season.
Clearly, there must have been a hold-up shortly afterwards as he didn’t reappear until mid-July, when he was touched off by Snellen in another Group 3. He then went to Deauville for a listed race and had to settle for fifth place behind Damysus, but this feels like a lesser contest, and one he ought to be up to winning. He is preferred to Reyenzi and the thoroughly unexposed Cadogan. He can take this at Fleur De Rose’s expense.
Joyful Tidings can regain the winning thread by taking the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Nursery. Most impressive when overcoming greenness to win a maiden on debut, he was off the track for almost five months before resurfacing in the valuable sales race at the Irish Champions Festival.
While quite well beaten into fifth place behind the impressive Alparslan, it was an encouraging return to action for the potentially smart juvenile and one he should have little trouble building on.
Ennoble has shown enough to suggest he is up to winning races and the drop back to five furlongs, for the afternoon’s opening race, might be enough to yield a positive outcome for Joseph O’Brien’s colt, who has shown good speed on both outings to date over six furlongs.
The straight six furlongs of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies’ Handicap can see a return to winning ways for Bundle Of Interest, whose sole success to date came over this trip at Navan. Stablemate Winters Breath can give her most to think about.
