Six-time champion and local hero Colin Keane was in sparkling form on the opening day of Bellewstown’s August meeting, registering a superb treble, highlighted by the victory of locally-trained Escaping Thejungle in the Dolly’s Bar & Pantry Handicap.

This five-year-old mare, owned by Bellewstown Racecourse chairman Alan Delany and trained by his father Eamon, made virtually all and prevailed in a finish of short-heads over Fair Taxes and Aurora Nova, recording her third success over course and distance.
