In the form of his life, Mephisto registered his third win in eight days when defying top-weight and the handicapper in the Comergah Veterinary Kilmacthomas Handicap Hurdle on the second day of Tramore’s August festival.

The Gerry Keane-trained eight-year-old, successful at Wexford last Friday and Ballinrobe on Monday and ridden again by Shane Fitzgerald, came from off the pace to lead before the final flight and forged clear to beat Clonbury Bridge by more than four lengths.
