The first time I was there was Dawn Run’s Champion Hurdle year in 1984. All the rest went over earlier, but for some reason it was something I didn’t do. There was so much pressure at that time that I remember everything just being a relief when she won to be honest. I remember my father telling me beforehand that if we get even half of the goodwill that we are being wished that she’d win.
