'That one meant a lot': Mullins savours victory in 'granny's race' aboard Vischio

Danny Mullins, who rode a Grade One treble at this meeting in 2024, couldn’t quite emulate that, but was more than happy to settle for a double which included a Grade One and the mares’ handicap hurdle named in memory of his late grandparents.
For the latter race, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Paddy & Maureen Mullins Mares’ Handicap Hurdle, it was extra special that he teamed up with his cousin, Emmet, to take the race with Vischio. Riding the listed winner from the Flat on what was her first start for the stable, Danny delivered her with a late run to win going away from Kimy, trained by his uncle, Tom.
