Irish weekend preview: Kala Conti can strike for Elliott

Fairyhouse takes over festival duties for another weekend of high-class racing, though Saturday’s card is considerably below the level of tomorrow’s fare with one exception: The SIS Beginners’ Chase which gets proceedings underway.

Despite the apparent strength of the race, the Willie Mullins-trained Impaire Et Passe is certain to be sent off a short price to make a winning start over fences. The 163-rated hurdler was a star novice, and connections chose to persevere in that sphere, likely hopeful he might develop into a Champion Hurdle contender.
