Lyons full of praise for 'legend' Mutasarref after Cork success

Mutasarref may not be from the very top drawer but the six-year-old is the embodiment of consistency at stakes level and when Ger Lyons’ horse ran out a comfortable winner of the featured Irish Stallion Farms EBF Navigation Stakes on Tuesday in Cork, it was the fourth listed success of his career, and 10th victory in total.
There were three non-runners in the race and, even with that, he was quite easy to back just before the off, but it could hardly have gone any more smoothly for him. Colin Keane, who has ridden the horse in all 22 starts, had a great position behind pacesetters Dublin and Magical Sunset, and when he switched the favourite wide to make his charge, victory was an inevitability.
