Niall McCullagh proved that age is merely a number when partnering Soaring Monarch to victory in the John McGuire Premier Handicap at Listowel on Monday.

Completing an across-the-cards double for trainer Alan McIntyre, who saddled Moonhall Church to win at Fairyhouse, it was plain sailing once the 55-year-old rider switched his mount out to challenge as they turned for home.
