The Coolmore Stud Gleneagles Irish EBF Maiden on Wednesday’s card in Cork Racecourse lacked depth but Comanche Brave looked a horse of real quality when racing to victory under Gavin Ryan.

Donnacha O’Brien’s colt, who finished fourth to the improving Ides Of March on his debut, is out of Jersey Stakes winner Ishvana and there was an unmistakable quality to the way he travelled and then quickened to readily land the odds.
