Sumiha lands Munster Oaks for Weld and Hayes at Cork

The successful run being enjoyed by Dermot Weld and Chris Hayes with Aga Khan-bred and owned fillies continued when Sumiha, having only the fourth run of her career, toughed it out to justify 11-8 favouritism in the Group 3 Darley Munster Oaks in Cork.

The four-year-old Sea The Stars filly made rapid headway from the back of the field turning for home and, before the two-furlong marker, became involved in a battle with front-running Trevaunance.
