Hannah Smullen, daughter of the late and legendary Pat Smullen and Frances Crowley, registered her first success in the saddle when the Gordon Elliott-trained Fillusin outpointed El Fabiolo’s sister and 2-5 favourite Si Se Puede by a half-length in the bumper at Tramore on Friday night. 

The winning rider said: “I’m 21 and in college studying Law in Trinity. I ride out for Gordon at weekends and on holidays. Gordon has been very, very good to me. I’m really enjoying riding as an amateur but I’ll focus on college as well. That’s my sixth ride in bumpers.
