He’s arguably the best trainer in racing history but past success doesn’t lessen the guilt Aidan O’Brien feels when things go wrong.

Speaking at his pre-Derby media day, O’Brien was quizzed about the apologetic tone he struck after City Of Troy’s potential Triple Crown bid was torpedoed in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month.
