It was a case of honours even between six-time champion Paul Townend and arch rival Jack Kennedy in the title race following Tuesday’s action in Naas.

Townend partnered the previously frustrating Icare Desbois to a hard-earned victory in the opening Mulvaney Bookmakers Maiden Hurdle before Kennedy replied on Eamonn O’Connell’s The Niffler in the Sean Graham Bookmakers Handicap Hurdle to leave the score at 117-113 in favour of the Kerry man.
