Veteran performer Sir Bob showed he retains plenty of enthusiasm for the game when the 12-year-old ran out a game winner of the Social Packs For The Easter Festival Handicap Hurdle, the feature race on a busy student raceday in Cork Racecourse.

Two from two in previous visits to the track, one of which was the Cork Grand National in November, the Robert Tyner-trained and JP McManus-owned gelding, clearly enjoying the experience, raced prominently throughout and when push came to shove for Mark Walsh’s mount, he had enough in reserve to deny Aodhan May a four-timer.
