Thurles preview: Tower can aspire to first victory over fences

Kings Hill ought to be hard to beat in the fourth race, the second division of the Thurles.ie Maiden Hurdle.

Thurles tries again after last Thursday’s meeting was lost to the weather and Aspire Tower can put a first winning mark over fences on his card when he contests the opening race, the Horse & Jockey Beginners’ Chase.

A most promising hurdler in younger days, he was off for almost two and a half years prior to finishing third to Beacon Edge here in mid-October. Six weeks later, he returned to this venue for his chasing debut and ran a superb race to take third place behind subsequent Grade One winner Il Etait Temps and the promising Ho My Lord.
