Corbetts Cross fall opens door for Velvet Elvis to land Fairyhouse spoils

There was drama in the feature Fairyhouse Easter Festival Rated Chase at the Meath venue on Wednesday as 1-4 shot Corbetts Cross crashed out three fences from home, leaving the way clear for Velvet Elvis to repeat last year’s win in the race and complete a double for Gavin Cromwell and Keith Donoghue.
The Derek O’Connor-ridden favourite had tracked his three rivals and was travelling strongly when Run Wild Fred (Jack Kennedy) jumped right at the third last. Corbetts Cross jumped into the back of that rival and both ended up on the ground.
