“All roads lead back to the Ryanair,” said Patrick Mullins following Allaho’s third victory in the Grade Two Horse & Jockey Hotel Chase at a windswept and rainy Thurles.

It was a reasonable remark after Paul Townend made all the running aboard the odds-on favourite, though whether the majority of bookmakers’ decision to cut the price of the 10-year-old to as short as 2-1 for the Cheltenham race was quite so reasonable is a different matter altogether.
