St Stephen’s Day in Leopardstown belonged, as much of the season thus far has, to Gordon Elliott, the Co Meath trainer completing a treble which included the featured Grade One Racing Post Novice Chase. Found A Fifty, owned by Bective Stud and ridden by Jack Kennedy, who continues to ride quite superbly, made light of a drop in trip to make his breakthrough at the top level.
He was a little wayward in the race, particularly in his tendency to jump out to his right, but there was nothing wrong with his response when Kennedy asked questions of him. He was a persistent thorn in the side of easy-to-back odds-on favourite Facile Vega but ultimately, on this occasion, just too good for him. Outsiders My Mate Mozzie and Sharjah stayed on to take second and third respectively, relegating the favourite to last place.
