Declan McDonogh, who was crowned champion jockey all the way back in 2006, is riding as well as ever and he proved it on Wednesday evening in Dundalk, recording a near 535-1 treble on the eight-race card.

Apache Outlaw, who won a juvenile maiden in 2022 and finished a close third in the Group 2 Railway Stakes on his following start, ended a long luckless sequence by taking the Happy Christmas From All At Dundalk Stadium Handicap under a strong drive by McDonogh. Putting his head down and battling bravely to deny favourite Pier Pressure his hat-trick, this was his first win since joining Ado McGuinness.
