Limerick hosts Tuesday’s action in Ireland and Glen Kiln can get punters off to the best possible start by taking the DMC Atlantic Maiden Hurdle. This race, as most on the card are, is restricted to professional and claiming riders who have not ridden more than 10 winners under National Hunt rules this year, and Ryan Treacy can put one on the board early by getting Harry Kelly’s promising four-year-old home in front.
Last time out, in Mallow, the selection was having his first run for this stable when contesting what looked like a decent maiden hurdle and while he was beaten 11 lengths into fourth place behind smart dual-purpose performer Flamborough, it was a fine effort. What was most pleasing was the way he raced to the line. As well as indicating that he has the right attitude, it also suggested he would appreciate a longer trip, which he gets on Tuesday.
