Without a victory since October 2021, Zanahiyr (10/11 favourite) regained the winning habit when landing the three-runner Paddy Power Hurdle in Punchestown, second leg of a double for Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy.

The Bective Stud-owned six-year-old tracked market rival Run For Oscar, jumping more fluently than his rival, mastered Oscar at the final flight and drew clear to score by two and a half lengths, with the winner’s stable-companion Andy Dufresne staying on to be a close third.
