Leader in the race for the apprentice championship, Jamie Powell bounced back from an eight-day careless riding ban he received in Galway on Tuesday with a fine double at Tramore’s rescheduled flat meeting.

Powell, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Monday, reached the 22-winner mark for the season thanks to victories on Mick Mulvany’s Fratas and the Cormac Farrell-trained Pro Bono.
