World Hurdle hero Thistlecrack ruled out of Punchestown

World Hurdle hero Thistlecrack will not run at Punchestown next week, trainer Colin Tizzard has announced.

The eight-year-old has been suffering with pus in a foot and as a result will not be ready for the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle on Thursday.

Tizzard said: "He's had pus in his foot for two days and we've not been able to ride him, and he's too good to risk.

"Punchestown is too close, next week I'm sure he'll be sound as a pound."
