McCoy Chepstow mount withdrawn

Tony McCoy’s quest to reach 4,000 winners over jumps is highly unlikely to be achieved at Chepstow today after one of his two mounts was declared a non-runner.

The 18-times champion jockey needs two more victories to reach the magic milestone, but Mission Complete was taken out of the NFU Mutual Supports RABI Handicap Hurdle due to the soft ground.

McCoy’s only ride at Chepstow, El Macca, runs in the opening RABI Gateway Project Maiden Hurdle at 1.10pm.

Unless the rider gets another ride on the card, McCoy must wait until tomorrow before he can attempt to bring up the landmark.
