Ayr gets go-ahead despite rain threat

This afternoon’s meeting at Ayr has survived a 7am inspection and goes ahead as scheduled.

Course officials required an assessment of conditions due to the threat of further rain.

But with no overnight rain having fallen, clerk of the course Emma Marley was able to give the fixture the thumbs-up.

The going is officially soft, heavy in places.
