Mossey in frame for Plate bid

Mossey Joe is all set to line up in the www.thetote.com Galway Plate as long as the ground is not testing.

Declan McNamara’s 10-year-old was an impressive 20-length winner of Stratford’s Champion Hunter Chase with Cheltenham winner Salsify way back in third.

He has won his last four races, all in the hands of amateur jockey Damien Skehan, who will be on board once more.

Currently on 11st 6lb in the handicap, that may rise if top-weight Rebel Fitz does not take part.

“It’s all systems go and he’s in good form. He remains settled at home,” said McNamara.

“We’ll be wanting quick ground and he definitely won’t run if it’s testing.

“He has 11st 6lb at the moment and Damien (Skehan) will ride him again.”
