Musselburgh check again

This afternoon’s meeting at Musselburgh must pass a second inspection at 10.30am.

With the track partly frozen following an early-morning assessment, clerk of the course Harriet Graham will check again later in the morning.

Overnight temperatures dipped to minus 2C.

Graham said: "It's due to be zero degrees at 10am, then it's meant to start rising one degree every hour. We have a plan in place of pushing the first race back to 1pm, and possibly dropping the last race, or the last two races, due to a lack of daylight.

“At this stage we are cautious (the meeting will go ahead).”
