Rain prompts inspections at two courses in the UK
Tuesday’s meetings at Sedgefield and Lingfield are subject to inspections due to the recent bad weather.
Sedgefield will check at 8.30am today, while Lingfield will hold a second precautionary inspection at 2pm.
Both courses are to have races tomorrow.
Clerk of the course at Sedgefield, Phil Tuck, reports there to be some areas of standing water on the track with further rain forecast today.
He said: “We’ll have a look this morning but we are not raceable at present.
“We have some patches of standing water on the track and there’s a band of rain forecast for today.”
Lingfield's clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie Ross took an initial look at 8am and found the track to be heavy but raceable.
However, further rain is forecast today so he will assess conditions again this afternoon.
