Newton Abbot gets go-ahead

Officials at Newton Abbot have cancelled their planned 8am inspection and racing goes ahead this afternoon.

Clerk of the course Jason Loosemore had been worried about the prospect of overnight rain on already testing ground.

However, the track saw less rain than was forecast and Loosemore is happy to give the meeting the go-ahead.

The ground is described as soft, heavy in places.
