Second check needed at Newton Abbot

Sunday’s jumps meeting at Newton Abbot must pass an 8am inspection on raceday morning.

Officials at the Devon circuit found the course waterlogged in places following an assessment of conditions on Saturday morning.

Another inspection is therefore necessary before the fixture can be given the go-ahead.

Although the forecast is for a dry day on Saturday, more rain could arrive at the track by early Sunday morning.

Saturday’s meeting at Newton Abbot was abandoned earlier in the week.
