Chepstow inspect

Chepstow’s evening meeting tomorrow will need to pass an 8am precautionary inspection.

The going at the Monmouthshire venue is currently heavy, soft in places.

Rain is scheduled to hit the track thisy evening and continue through the night with anything up to 15mm possible and further rain is forecast tomorrow.

Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen said: "We've been lucky all week missing the heavy showers and we need to be lucky again.

“The rain is forecast to be prolonged, rather than showers – that’s the problem.

“The course has been improving slowly but gradually this week.

“We’ll sit tight and just hope for the best.”
