Chepstow inspect

Tomorrow’s meeting at Chepstow is subject to a precautionary inspection at 8am due to the threat of waterlogging.

Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen said: “We’ve called the precautionary inspection as we had about 26 millimetres of rain yesterday which was a lot more than forecast and we are now heavy, soft in places.

“We are just about raceable but further rain is forecast, maybe another 10-12mm.

“The problem is the unreliability of the forecasts, they are so variable, and given we are heavy now it seems sensible to let everyone know where we are.”
