Tommy Stack’s stable have announced the death of this year’s Dubai Duty Free runner-up Mutahadee.

The colt, who had represented both Stack and Mike De Kock, collapsed after a routine piece of work.

He won three races, a maiden at Dundalk and two in Meydan, as well as placing behind both Master Of Hounds and Cityscape in Group One company.

“We are very sad to report that Mutahadee has died this morning at Thomastown Castle,” said Stack’s website.

“The son of Encosta De Lago collapsed after a routine exercise on the gallops. He had returned to Thomastown Castle in early May and was an exciting prospect for the 2012 season. Both team Stack and De Kock are sad to see him gone.”
