No problems at Punchestown

The final day of the Punchestown Festival will go ahead this afternoon after the course passed a precautionary inspection.

The Co Kildare track has been hit by significant rainfall all week but Punchestown racing manager Richie Galway found conditions to be perfectly raceable ahead of Saturday’s card.

The six-race fixture, featuring the rescheduled thetote.com Punchestown Gold Cup, gets under way at 2.40pm.

The going remains heavy.
