Ripon to inspect again
Tomorrow's race meeting at Ripon remains under threat from the current wet spell with a second inspection called for 7.30am in the morning.
Officials looked at the North Yorkshire track on Friday morning and found standing water in places.
However, with a generally dry forecast, they remain hopeful they can beat the weather.
"There are areas of standing water on the track currently which we are endeavouring to clear," said clerk of the course James Hutchinson.
"The forecast is basically dry, though there is the chance of a light shower. There are things in our favour which will be a help in our attempt to race."
The ground is described as soft, heavy in places.
