Organisedconfusion out to reign at Gowran

Organisedconfusion will have his prep race for the John Smith’s Grand National at Gowran Park tomorrow.

Winner of the Irish National by five lengths last April, the seven-year-old has since had his campaign built around the Aintree equivalent next month.

After two respectable spins over hurdles, he fell at the first last time out and trainer Arthur Moore will be hoping he gets a bit further in the Shamrock Handicap Chase.

He also held entries over fences and hurdles at Naas a day later, but Moore has plumped for Gowran.

Moore said: “I think he’s got a nice racing weight in the National (10st 8lb) but whether he’s well handicapped, I couldn’t tell you.

“We’ll see how he get on this weekend before we start thinking of Aintree, but that is the plan.

“He’ll need to be running well to warrant going over to Aintree, though, that’s for sure.

“He has to book his ticket before we start thinking of the National.”

Top weight in a field of 11 will be carried by Oliver McKiernan’s Follow The Plan, who was fourth to Quel Esprit in the Hennessy Gold Cup last time, while Jack Absolute and Lead Kindly Light have been in winning form of late.
