Kempton outline inspection plan
Officials at Kempton have called an inspection for 8am tomorrow ahead of Friday’s meeting.
Clerk of the course Barney Clifford will assess conditions in the morning before making a decision on the fate of their jumps card.
Should the National Hunt fixture be called off, Kempton have a back-up bumper card planned on the all-weather.
He said: “We are frozen in places at the moment. It dropped to minus 3C overnight with a wind chill of minus 7C and we are not forecast to get above zero today.
“We have minus 2C forecast overnight and we’re just playing it safe and giving the National Hunt card every chance should it be warmer than expected.
“We saw a slow thaw yesterday and by 3pm you would have raced I think, but I will have to make a decision in the morning in order to activate the all-weather card.”
