Southwell to reassess at 8am
This afternoon’s jumps fixture at Southwell is subject to a second course inspection at 8am.
Although the track remains partially frozen, rising temperatures, allied to a steady overnight thaw, offered cause for optimism during a 6am assessment.
Clerk of the course Roderick Duncan said: “We dropped to zero at one stage last night, and the frost is slowly coming out of the ground.
“Temperatures are plus six and forecast to rise this morning.
“We’re good to soft, frozen in places, but I’d be fairly confident at this stage.”
