Jockey to appeal 22-day ban
Robert Winston will appeal against the 22-day ban handed to him by the Southwell stewards yesterday.
He finished second on Zenarinda in the Follow Us On Twitter At bluesq Handicap, but was found to have used his whip excessively, and down the shoulder in the forehand position.
Winstonâs punishment was so severe as it was his second such offence within the previous 12 months.
The appeal, to be heard by the disciplinary panel of the British Horseracing Authority, will take place on Thursday.
Winstonâs agent, Simon Dodds, said: âHe will be appealing.
âI canât say much more at this stage obviously other than it will be heard on Thursday.â
