Sunday inspection at Carlisle

Officials at Carlisle will stage an 8am inspection ahead of their scheduled Sunday fixture.

The Cumbrian track has been hit by freezing temperatures this week and with more of the same forecast for Saturday night, clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch has decided to call an official check.

Tulloch said: “It got down to minus 2C overnight and a bit of frost got into the ground, but it’s not too bad at the moment.

“It could go either way really. The forecast is very similar for today and tonight, so we’ll just have to see which way it goes.

“We’ve got fleece down on some areas of the track, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed.”
