Snow forces inspection for Hexham

Officials at Hexham have called an inspection ahead of Wednesday’s meeting due to snow.

Clerk of the course James Armstrong will check conditions at 2.30pm on Tuesday after the track was covered by one and a half inches of snow.

He said: “We couldn’t have raced today but things have improved a little this morning. You couldn’t see the track this morning but I’d say 60% of it is visible now.

“We will see what happens tonight and tomorrow but the sun is doing its best.

“It’s forecast to be 0C tonight and then 3C to 5C tomorrow so we will see how it looks tomorrow afternoon.”
