Ayr declared a washout

This afternoon’s jumps fixture at Ayr has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

Officials at the Scottish venue were forced to move forward their scheduled 7.30am precautionary inspection following heavy overnight showers.

Twenty-eight millimetres of rainfall decimated an already saturated course, with another 10mm forecast during the day.

Ayr clerk of the course Emma Marley said: ``We brought forward the inspection, just to get the message out early.

“It was a very easy decision to make.”
