There was an unlikely French victory in the Tulasi Richardson Birthday Surprise Tri-Nations Amateur Riders' Handicap Hurdle at Folkestone today.

The Kent track has established a link with Pompadour racecourse in south central France, leading to Splendid Life being sent across the Channel to take part in Pompadour Day.
