Dettori misses Leicester

Frankie Dettori has given up his sole ride at Leicester this afternoon after suffering a minor foot injury on Sunday.

The Italian returned to his homeland to ride at Capannelle and banged his toe coming out of the stalls on his final ride of the day.

He will be replaced by Ryan Moore for the ride on Mahmood Al Zarooni’s Sadeek’s Song in today’s Sir Gordon Richards Conditions Stakes.

Dettori’s agent, Ray Cochrane, said: “He just banged his foot coming out of the stalls in Italy yesterday and his toe is quite swollen.

“It isn’t too bad and he’ll be back riding at Yarmouth on Tuesday.”
