Harrington plots Steps comeback

Jessica Harrington is weighing up options for Steps To Freedom after his impressive Grade Three victory at Punchestown last week.

The five-year-old won the Aintree bumper in the spring for Gordon Elliott and has struck three times since switching yards.

“I was delighted with him at Punchestown and we’ll see what happens with the ground before making any definite plans,” said Harrington.

“There is a race at Cheltenham’s November meeting he could go for and later on there is the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

“If the ground came up too quick at Down Royal for Oscars Well, he might run there.”
