Jason Maguire is in a race against time to partner Peddlers Cross on his chasing debut at Bangor on November 9.

The leading jockey has been sidelined since suffering a fall at Cartmel at the end of August, which left him with a fractured bone in the back of his neck.

Maguire is eyeing a November comeback, but whether he will return in time to get the leg-up on the Donald McCain-trained Champion Hurdle runner-up is uncertain.

“I’m hoping to be back in the middle of November, we’ll just see how it goes,” said Maguire.

“Obviously I’ll be trying to get back for Bangor, but it’s going to be pretty tight.

“I’m having a scan on October 31 and I’ll have a lot better idea about how long it’s going to be then.”
